To mark the publication of Breast Cancer:  The facts written by Professor Christobel Saunders and colleague Dr Sunil Jassal, the School of Surgery at The University of Western Australia is holding a book launch and art exhibition at UWA's Cullity Gallery.

Published by Oxford University Press, the book covers all aspects of breast cancer with a focus on the patient journey, from disease background, through to diagnosis, treatment and the emotional aspects of survivorship.  This concise and accessible guide aims to assist women in negotiating the path to recovery and provides valuable information for patients, their families and friends and health professionals.

Accompanying the book launch is an exhibition including works by photographer Jacquie Moran, whose portraits documenting various aspects of breast cancer are featured in the book.  Detailed anatomical drawings by artist Hans Arkeveld will also feature in the art exhibition, alongside drawings by Jon Tarry, and optical images by Robert McLaughlin.
