The Faculty is delighted to offer our congratulations to Computer Science and Software Engineering PhD student, Jana Sperschneider , who has been selected as a 2009 ANZ Anita Borg finalist. As a finalist, Jana will travel to Sydney to attend the Anita Borg Scholars Retreat. Selected participants from the retreat will then travel to America for the world finals.

The scholarship, in memory of Dr Anita Borg, aims to encourage women to excel in computing and technology, and become active role models and leaders.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have completed at least one year of a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Informatics, or a closely related technical field, be enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate study full time, have at least one year of study remaining and maintain an excellent academic record, averaging a minimum of distinctions.
