A BIG thank you to all of our Faculty's team of staff and students for their fantastic and enthusiastic contributions to the 2009 UWA Open Day...ensuring it was a great success all round!

This years' Open Day was a fantastic achievement for our Faculty and the University. Our buildings, displays and marquee were rarely free of visitors during the day!  All of our information sessions were very well attended with two engineering sessions being a ‘sell out' with visitors having to be turned away!

The bright and plentiful yellow balloons linked the displays around our precinct, with many visitors following the treasure map to discover all of the exciting study options our Faculty offers.

The multitude of people who visited the university also enjoyed our sausage sizzles, popcorn and fudge demonstrations, sinking in quicksand, finding out what a drifter is, challenging our mathematicians, learning about renewable energy and playing with the robot dogs whilst collecting stickers along the way!

The University estimates there were over 20,000 visitors, encouraged by not only our course and careers information but also the opportunity to meet industry representatives, see normally off-limit labs and workshops and also to enjoy the family fun activities scattered across campus all aided by a lovely sunny day!

The feedback on the improved atmosphere has been great with many families appreciating the opportunity to entice little brothers and sisters along with the promise of a visit to the petting zoo or bouncy castle!

Once again, thank you to everyone not only for your help on the day but also in the lead up to and since the event. The support and dedication of our wonderful staff and students helped to ensure that our faculty, schools, centres, organisations and clubs were well represented and visitors were able to find out about all aspects of life on campus!
