Are you new to teaching in higher education? Feeling as if you have been thrown in the deep end? Are you finding that, as sessional staff, you can't get to the longer teaching professional development sessions?
Help is at hand. Eight short, sharp workshops when you need it!

At the end of this workshop you will:

  • Discuss the purpose of assessment,
  • Define the terms formative and summative assessment,
  • Discuss how rubrics can be used when marking assignments and exams,
  • Discuss the requirements for providing effective feedback for students about their performance,
  • Describe different categories used to provide feedback on written work.
