The CATLyst Network is pleased to announce three new Semester 2 2009 workshops, open for any sessional staff in the ECM Faculty.
The workshops will include:
1) Small Group Teaching - Class Management and Student Engagement
Date: Tuesday 28 July 2009
Time: 12.00pm - 1.00pm
Venue: Old UPSL, ground floor of the Civil Mechanical Engineering building

2) Marking and Providing Effective Student Feedback
Date: Tuesday 25 August 2009
Time: 12.00pm - 1.00 pm
Venue: Old UPSL, ground floor of the Civil Mechanical Engineering building

3) Small Group Teaching - Discussion and Student Engagement
Date: Tuesday 22 September  2009
Time: 12.00pm - 1.00 pm
Venue: Old UPSL, ground floor of the Civil Mechanical Engineering building

Bookings for the first workshop, Small Group Teaching - Class Management and Student Engagement , are now open.
This workshop is designed for staff new to teaching in higher education.
At the end of this workshop you will:

  • Feel more confident and relaxed about starting to teach in higher education
  • Prepare for your first tutorial
  • Have strategies in place to handle those potential tutorial disasters
  • Locate tips, hints and other resources useful to small group teaching - management and student engagement.
