The following one-hour workshops will be held in August for faculty researchers who are new, or relatively new, to Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery and Linkage Project grant development. Each session will be facilitated by Debbie Thackray with expert tips and advice from successful FECM ARC applicants and plenty of time for questions.

1. Beginners guide to ARC Discovery Scheme - projects and fellowships

Time : 1pm - 2pm
Provisional Date :  Tues 11th August - to be confirmed

Content : Overview of Discovery scheme, types of investigators and fellowships, what sort of projects are supported, what ARC will and won't fund, International Collaboration Awards, how projects are assessed, timelines for application development, UWA support for applicants.

2. ARC Linkage Projects from scratch

Time : 1pm - 2pm
Provisional Date :  Tues 25th August - to be confirmed
Venue : to be announced
Content : Overview of Linkage scheme, types and examples of partners, what makes a great partnership, how to find a partner, how to sell your ideas and the scheme to a potential partner, what can be funded, example budgets, timelines for development, UWA support for applicants.

Also, later in the year we will run some more hands-on workshops for beginners, where we go through application sections in detail.
