The Australian Academy of Science is seeking nominations for Early Career Researcher Awards (usually under 40 yrs of age) and Career Awards for life-long achievements in a number of different areas.


Those who wish to nominate a suitable candidate need to complete a form which includes:

  • a brief description of the candidate's achievement,
  • candidate's CV, and
  • a list of 20 publications.

Nominators of short-listed candidates will be contacted by early September. All nominations will be acknowledged. The award recipients will be announced in early December.

It is generally required that a candidate for the Early Researcher Award is under 40 years of age, but there is room for an ‘age exemption request' if a researcher's career has been significantly disrupted.

In addition to honorific awards, the Academy supports research through the sponsorship of conferences that focus on rapidly developing fields of research, the award of travelling fellowships and research awards .
