Nominations are now invited from staff members interested in serving as elected representatives on ACC and GCC committees for a one year term in 2009 - 2010.

The Academic and General Staff Agreements 2009 provide for the establishment of the Academic Consultative Committee (ACC) and the General Staff Consultative Committees (GCC) . The role of these two committees is to enable direct consultation between management and employees on workplace relations and human resource matters.

Membership of each committee includes three elected staff representatives.
Individuals nominating need to carefully consider their capacity to regularly attend committee meetings. ACC meetings are held monthly and GCC meetings are conducted quarterly.

ACADEMIC STAFF CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE:

No. of Positions Available: 3
Nomination Prerequisites:
A member from Academic Staff from each of the following categories:
- one from level A or B
- one from level C
- one from level D or E
Voting Criteria: academic staff only
Term of Office: one year

GENERAL STAFF CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE:

No. of Positions Available: 3
Nomination Prerequisites: A member from General Staff
Voting Criteria: General Staff Only
Term of Office: One year

NOMINATION PROCESS
Your nomination accompanied by a brief statement of no more than 100 words identifying relevant experience and interest in the particular committee should be forwarded by email or by letter to the Returning Officer, Joanne Smith in Human Resources by 5pm on 19 June 2009.

If the number of nominations equals the number of available places then these nominees will be automatically elected to the Committees. If nominations exceed the number of places on a Committee, a ballot of Academic and/or General Staff will be conducted. Staff will be advised by all-staff email as to whether a ballot will be required. The ballot will be conducted electronically via ESS commencing 29 June 2009 over a period of two weeks.
