All staff and students within the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics are invited to 91st Annual Engineering Ball held by the UEC (University Engineers' Club).

Each year the UEC holds an Annual Engineering Ball. The first one was held in 1919 following an increase in the Engineering School’s numbers by ex-servicemen. In 1921 a committee was elected to organise the ball. This committee became known as the UEC in 1922. Today the UEC is the Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences’ Faculty Society.

The UEC continues to organise the Annual Ball, amongst other social events, but today it has a much greater emphasis upon student representation and services.
An important role of a Faculty Society is to network students with staff. The ball represents a unique opportunity for staff and students to socialise in a formal, but fun setting.

This year the ball is being held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre BelleVue Ballroom on Friday 8th May and is proudly sponsored by Leighton Contractors. The evening will commence with pre-dinner drinks at 7pm. Throughout the evening guests will enjoy a three-course meal, drinks and a live band. The ticket price for staff is yet to be confirmed, but the cost will be subsidised by the UEC and the event sponsor, Leighton Contractors. Tickets will go on sale in early April and can be purchased from outside the ECM common room (ground floor Engineering – Civil & Mechanical building) from 1pm to 2pm daily.
