UWA Business School Receives 5 Stars

‘The Good Universities Guide to MBA and Management Programs' for 2007 has just been published. The guide does not formally rank Schools and programs but puts them in bands for various categories and for some of those categories they award stars.

The good news is that the UWA Business School has received more stars than any other Business School in Australia. And the GMAA also put the UWA MBA programs in the 5 star (top) category.

Congratulations to all staff for this recognition!

Oil tanker captain and EMBA Business School student Suzannah Vaughan was saluted on International Women's Day as the Australian winner of The Veuve Clicquot Award. The award is presented in 16 countries annually to ground-breaking and visionary female business leaders.

Ray da Silva Rosa was promoted to Professor within the Financial Studies discipline. Ray is Director of the WA Centre for Capital Markets Research. He is on the editorial Board of the Australian Accounting Review and on the Scientific Committee of the Portuguese Finance Network. He is also President of the UWA Academic Staff Association.

Welcome to the first edition of eBiz for 2007 - a year which is destined to be filled with memorable highlights and milestones. The visible progress of our new Business School building at the southern end of campus (where the sheep used to roam!) is a fitting symbol of the progress we are making across all aspects of our operations. For all of us at the UWA Business School it is tremendously rewarding to begin to see some of our ambitious plans translate to realities.
