Help us promote this important day in the University’s calendar by dressing up your email signature with a dedicated design.

Follow the simple instructions below, and after Open Day (Sunday 12 August) we’ll provide a replacement version so you can change your signature back again.

After many years of dedicated service to UWA, Professor Robyn Owens has made the decision to retire at the end of her current term, in November 2019.

Robyn’s contribution to the university has been immeasurable, having performed numerous roles, most recently of course serving two terms as the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Research. In this role Robyn has led the University’s research strategy and played a critical role as a member of the UWA Executive.

A Perth Festival favourite wins the Helpmann Award

One of the hits of this year’s Perth Festival was honoured at Australia’s top performing arts awards on Monday night. Early music adventurer Jordi Savall’s performance with Hespèrion XXI and Tembembe Ensamble Continuo won a Helpmann Award in the best chamber and/or instrumental ensemble concert category.

Putting European traditions alongside Indigenous Mexican and Latin American sounds, Savall and a dozen performers revered and celebrated both forms in a thrilling performance of music and dance.

For 14 years, Julie Millias worked as a Dental Therapist, visiting schools across Perth, the Wheatbelt and Great Southern.  When she decided it was time for a career change, she turned to studying microcomputers – a change that led her to a new career with UWA.  Now Julie has set herself another goal – to complete postgraduate studies in Leadership.
