Thirty-four Year 10 Indigenous students from around the State spent their school holidays learning a raft of new skills from wheelchair basketball to building a strong bridge and making moulds of teeth.
The University confirms the resignation of Sandra Ventre, Director Human Resources with effect on 30 June 2017.
Sandra joined the UWA team in September 2014. During her tenure, Sandra has focused on the introduction of the new HR Business Partner model and the implementation of new HR services such as recruitment and immigration and the delivery of the new Enterprise Agreements.
Last week Team UWA won the 2017 WA University Games after three compelling days of competition in Bunbury. In what marks the final WA University Games, it was fitting UWA won the championship after dominating the tournament for the last decade.
UWA Sport General Manager Ian Fitzpatrick said the team not only excelled on the sports field but also demonstrated a high level of sportsmanship throughout the week.
“Given this is the last year of the regional games it was great to take out the championship and finish on top.
Open Day is the largest recruitment and community engagement event on the University’s calendar. It’s designed to inspire potential students to study at UWA and includes an extensive community engagement program.
The campus will come alive with activity as representatives from Guild Clubs and residential colleges, current students, alumni and staff from across the University share information about the UWA experience.
