Mine Waste Seminar 2010 – Call for Abstracts

This first international seminar on the Reduction of Risk in the Management of Tailing and Mine Waste will be held on 29 September - 1 October in Perth.

The seminar will tackle the full range of issues that constitute risk in the management of mining wastes, particularly tailings and waste rock.

The Faculty offers our congratulations to Hemlata Wadhwa who has been awarded Best Student Paper Presentation at the 9th Engineering Mathematics and Applications Conference (EMAC 2009) held at the University of Adelaide from 6th - 9th December for presenting the work on ‘Hydrodynamic forces on an oscillating disk under a free surface'.

For the first time, iPhones and iPod Touch have been clinically tested by patients who have lost the use of their hands and fingers, as simple, inexpensive and convenient assessment tools for manual dexterity.
