The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) has awarded $448,022 to the University of Western Australia for equipment grants for 2009. The amount has been calculated by allocating funds pro rata to the NHMRC health and medical research grants held by UWA in 2009.

The Federal Government funding for National Science Week 2010 was announced by Senator the Hon Kim Carr on 2nd October 2009. National Science Week Grants are one of several avenues through which the Australian Government funds National Science Week.

The Faculty is delighted to offer our congratulations to Computer Science and Software Engineering PhD student, Jana Sperschneider, who has been selected as a 2009 ANZ Anita Borg finalist. As a finalist, Jana will travel to Sydney to attend the Anita Borg Scholars Retreat. Selected participants from the retreat will then travel to America for the world finals.
