The Faculty would like to offer our congratulations to Ms Jovanna Taylor, a Computer Science and Engineering student who has been selected as a 2009 ANZ Anita Borg finalist. As a finalist, Jovanna will travel to Sydney to attend the Anita Borg Scholars Retreat in October. Selected participants from the retreat will then travel to America for the world finals.

Dani Barrington wins a UWA Publication Prize

The Faculty wishes to offer our congratulations to Ms Dani Barrington, a PhD candidate, from the School of Environmental Systems Engineering for being awarded a publication prize by Professor Doug McEachern, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) for her paper "Application of Hydrogen Peroxide for the Removal of Toxic Cyanobacteria and Other Phytoplankton from Wastewater" published in Environmental Science and Technology.

The University of Western Australia's Motorsport team achieved another success by claiming 3rd position in the 2009 World Championship for Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), which took place in Hockenheim, Germany, earlier this month.

In February 2009 the University Website Office began migrating our School and Centre sites into the Matrix Content Management System. The migration process not only ensures that websites meet objectives of the business unit, but also ensure compliance with the University's draft Web Policy which is due to take effect as of 1 January 2010.
