UWA pole vaulters were in form as they claimed victory in both the men’s and women’s events in windy conditions at the Sir Graeme Douglas International in Auckland.
Commonwealth Games bronze medallist and UWA Athletics Club member Nina Kennedy entered the competition at 4.32 metres, with the rest of the field already out.
Chasing an Olympic qualifier of 4.70m, Nina fell just short with a final height of 4.50m, continuing her return to form after 18 months out of competition.
UWA student athlete Stephen Clough won the men's pole vault jumping 5.17 metres, with fellow WAIS athlete Declan Carruthers in third place.
