Students enrolled in the UWA Law School's Legal APPtitude unit presented their final projects at sponsor firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth on Wednesday 23 October 2019.
The Legal APPtitude unit involves students teaming up with lawyers from Corrs’ Perth office to develop AI applications to improve efficiencies and save costs for not-for-profits. In 2019 students worked with one of four non-for-profits: Law Access, Subiaco Justice Centre, Anglicare and the Mental Health Law Centre.
The students had responsibility for managing their client relationships, setting and delivering against deadlines, and working collaboratively with professionals, academics, and the community.
Corrs’ partners Robert Franklyn and David Yates continue to lead the program from a Corrs’ perspective, with Assistant Professor Kate Offer and Alex Cook from the UWA Law School co-ordinating efforts at the University.
