On Wednesday night, our 18 strong cheer and dance squad performed a powerhouse routine, and took home a bronze medal in the level 3/4 co-ed category. There was also a great turnout and show of support by their fellow UWA Nationals team members.
The final day of competition saw beautiful conditions for rowing, which saw our Team UWA rowers take out the gold for men’s lightweight four. Not long after their race, the whole team also performed well to place 5th in the prestigious Oxford Cambridge Cup.
At Surfers Paradise, it was a nail biting grand final between UWA and the University of Sydney. Despite their best efforts, Ryan and Maksim just fell short, going down 2-1 but still bringing home a silver medal.
Overall, UWA did a fantastic job to take home six medals across the week! Now, the preparations begin as UWA will have the home town advantage for Nationals 2020 in Perth.
