The University of Western Australia Business School’s MBA program has been ranked number one in Oceania for Entrepreneurship and Alumni Outcomes, and 6th in Oceania overall, according to the QS World University Rankings 2020 Global MBA Rankings .

The report, released on 26 September, also ranked the UWA MBA program 2nd in Oceania for return on investment and 4th for diversity, reflecting the breadth of experience that students bring to the personalised program.

While many current students come from petro-energy, as well as mining and government, professionals from real estate, tech, not-for-profit, consultancy and the health sector also contribute to the variety of skills and knowledge in each class.

Professor Allan Trench, MBA Director at UWA, said it was pleasing that the University was being recognised for prioritising graduate outcomes for MBA graduates.

“Our graduates consistently go on to significant positions at leading firms, not-for-profit organisations and government departments in Australia and international companies globally,” Professor Trench said.

“These exceptional employment outcomes are proof that our MBA programs are relevant and valuable to employers in all fields.”

Graduate Rutwik Pungliya said the UWA MBA played a pivotal role in his career change towards senior management.

“Being an engineering graduate with technical skill sets, the MBA bridged my knowledge gap in the areas of team building, leadership, operations planning and strategic management,” he said.

Bindi Shah, Analyst for the Australian Energy Market Operator and Graduate Management Association (GMA) councillor, said her qualification led to new avenues.

“The MBA at UWA gave me the confidence to transfer my skillsets into roles I would never have considered before. I’ve also built lifetime relationships with some amazing people along the way, and still continue to do so with the strong alumni network,” Ms Shah said.

An MBA and Graduate Certificate Information Evening will be held at the UWA Business School on Wednesday, 2 October. Current students and recent alumni will be sharing their experiences with the programs and giving valuable advice for those considering an MBA. To attend, please register here.
