Join us for a lively conversation where leading experts will discuss ways of improving agricultural practices at a one-day forum held at The University of Western Australia Club on Thursday 25 July.
Hosted by The UWA Institute of Agriculture, the forum will bring together some of Australia's leading farmers, key industry leaders and researchers to discuss how to rebuild trust between innovative primary producers and ethically informed consumers. With increasing public scrutiny of agricultural practices in food and fibre production, this forum aims to find common ground and provide innovative solutions for moving forward.
Professor Robyn Owens, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), UWA, will open the symposium and Dr Nin Kirkham, Discipline Chair of Philosophy, UWA, will give the keynote address.
Other speakers include Ms Deanna Lush, Managing Director, AgCommunicators and Australian Farm Institute 2018 John Ralph Essay Award Winner; Professor Alan Tilbrook, Centre for Animal Science, Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation, The University of Queensland; Mr David Carter, CEO, Austral Fisheries; and Ms Bindi Murray, Sheep Farmer, Woodanilling, WA.
Professor Fiona Haslam-McKenzie, Co-leader Centre for Regional Development, School of Agriculture and Environment, UWA, will facilitate a panel discussion.
