A team of nearly 30 UWA students and three staff will be travelling to Hong Kong later this month to take part in the 26th Biennial Intervarsity Games (BIG).
BIG is a large scale inter-university multi-sport event that also includes cultural events including Opening and Closing ceremonies and tour of the city, with the objective to build stronger relationships between university aged students in the Asian region.
The 26th Games will be hosted by the University of Hong Kong, and will take place from 22 to 29 June 2015. The Games have been held since 1949 however were suspended for 10 years due to the Asian Financial Crisis (1997-1998) and were reinstated in 2007.
The Biennial Intervarsity Games include the following sports:

- Football (soccer)
- Table Tennis
- Tennis
- Volleyball
