The University of Western Australia celebrated 31 Chinese students who participated in a research training program at UWA throughout July and August with our most prominent research leaders.

The research program ran for two months and matched final year undergraduate Chinese students from four of China’s prestigious C9 universities with UWA academics.

The mentoring program, coordinated by Principal Adviser, International Research Networks and Mobility Judith Berman, began in 2010 with 5 students from University of Science & Technology of China (UTSC) and has grown to 31 participants in 2014 from four universities: University of Science & Technology of China (USTC); Nanjing University (NJU) in Nanjing; Zhejiang University (ZJU); and Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in Harbin.

At the farewell students thanked UWA academics and Judith Berman for the rewarding research training and the enriching Australian experiences shared - students participated in trips to iconic Australian locations including beautiful beaches, Kings Park and Rottnest Island to name a few.

The research mentoring program will continue in 2015.
