A gala dinner was held at the UWA Club for the graduating Pharmacy class of 2013. The evening was launched by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, Winthrop Professor Ian Puddey.  The Director of Pharmacy, Professor Rhonda Clifford reflected on the excellence of the 36 graduating students from the class of 2013 and 17 prizes were awarded to outstanding graduates from a range of donors, including the Pharmaceutical Society of WA and The Society of Hospital Pharmacists.

The evening culminated in the awarding of the Gladys Heedes Medal for the student with the highest aggregate mark over the Master of Pharmacy Program to Brooke Buckingham.

Brooke was also invited to give the Valedictory Speech at the graduation ceremony the following week. Pharmaceutical Defence Limited sponsor this prize in honour of Gladys Heedes, a leader and innovator in the pharmacy profession over many decades.

The UWA Pharmacy Alumni was also officially launched by the President of the Alumni, Jila Misaghian, and Vice President Mona Kiani. This group aims to foster ongoing links between UWA and the UWA pharmacy graduates and continued excellence in pharmacy practice.
