The afternoon of Saturday 12 October saw the UWA Watersports Complex transformed with the colour pink, for a spectacular high tea raising money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).
The event was supported by UWA Sports, which generously provided the venue for the function.
The Ladies' High Tea, hosted by UWA graduate Ayesha Harrison-Stewart, raised more than $1,000 for research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer. Guests were treated to a selection of sweet delicacies and pots of tea, while enjoying a world-class view over the Swan River.
Starting out four years ago as breakfast for family and friends, Ayesha says her annual NBCF event has grown enormously over the years. She is proud to say that this year, 70 women attended the event.
‘Events such as this provide funds for Australian research projects each year, leading to significant advancements in the prevention and cure of breast cancer,' Ayesha said.
‘Anyone can get involved with the NBCF next year, by hosting a pink ribbon event in the month of October.'
