Emeritus Professor Tracey Horton, former Dean of the UWA Business School, has been made an Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia.

Receiving the award during last month’s Australia Day celebrations, Professor Horton was recognised for her ‘distinguished  service  to  business  and  business  education  through  a  range  of  leadership and academic roles, and to the arts in Western Australia.’

Professor Horton holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from UWA and was Dean of the UWA Business School between 2004 and 2011.

Professor Horton began her career as an economist at the Reserve Bank of Australia, before going on to live, study and work in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia.

Professor Horton is an experienced company director, currently sitting on a number of listed company, government and not-for-profit boards.

She is currently the Commissioner of Tourism Western Australia, member of the federal government’s Takeovers Panel, Chairman of Navitas and Chairman of Presbyterian Ladies' College.

Acting Dean of the UWA Business School, Professor Peter Robertson, congratulated Emeritus Professor Horton on receiving her Australia Day award.
