The inaugural Master of Teaching (Early Childhood and Primary) offered through the UWA Albany Centre has seen its first group of students graduating.

On 15 December 2014, a prize-giving ceremony saw six of the initial group of students being awarded prizes and certificates which was the culmination of two years of hard work and great determination. This photo shows the following graduates in the back row: Nadine Morris, Daniel Robson, Sasha Claughton and front row: Samantha Scanlan, Marianthe Loucataris, Associate Professor Val Faulkner, Helen Grandage.

Professor Helen Wildy congratulated the new teachers and wished them well in their new careers.  On this evening, the graduate who received the Albany Centre Director’s Award for outstanding achievement was Ms Sasha Claughton, who topped off a stellar month by also being appointed to Mt Lockyer Primary School for the start of the 2015 school year.

This initial group of graduates are the first to complete their degree; 2015 will see a second graduation; 2016 will be the final year of the programme as well as final graduation of students.
