Former West Coast Eagles captain Darren Glass has chosen to do one and employers around the world are increasingly demanding one - a postgraduate qualification.

To help students make the right choice of postgraduate coursework or research degree, The University of Western Australia's Postgrad & Honours Expo will next week showcase the wide range of honours and postgraduate coursework and research options available.

The Expo will be held at the Bayliss Building and surrounding venues on Wednesday
24 September from 4pm to 7pm, enabling students to access information and talk to academic staff and postgraduate students from faculties, schools and departments across the University.

There will be information sessions on coursework and faculty research opportunities and an industry partner will discuss the business value from postgraduate and honours education.

UWA is ranked in the top one per cent of universities worldwide and offers postgraduate students access to outstanding teaching and research staff.

The University's formal agreements with top-ranking institutions around the world and strategic partnerships with industry, the professions and government provide opportunities to engage and build networks globally, while obtaining a world-class qualification.

General information such as fees, scholarships, support services and the application process for honours, coursework and research programs will also be available.

Some of UWA's innovative new graduate courses available from 2015 include:

  • Master of Business Administration :  now available as a one year full-time course.
  • Master of Ecotourism: offered at UWA's Albany Campus.
  • Masters of Biotechnology: a unique combination of state-of-the-art biotechnology and training in enterprise and commercialization.
  • Master of International Law: students study the complexities and challenges of international law (whether they are lawyers or not).
