Two students from one of the world's most scenic universities will soon begin studying at one of the world's oldest.

The University of Western Australia students have won scholarships to the University of Cambridge in the UK.

This year, UWA is celebrating its centenary - while the University of Cambridge marked its 800 th anniversary in 2009.

Julie Ji, will undertake a PhD in Biological Science.  Her research proposal title is ‘Elevating Positive Emotions in Depression via Cognitive Bias Modification of Attention and Interpretation'.  Julie was awarded the Cambridge Australia Poynton Scholarship.

Georgina Statham, who won the Cambridge Australia 800 th Anniversary Scholarship, will undertake a PhD in Philosophy and research perspectival realism about causation.
