UWA has won the Australian National Rounds of the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition this year.

UWA defeated Bond University's team in the semi final, securing its place representing Australia in the International Rounds in Washington DC.

Afterwards, UWA defeated the Australian National University in a close Grand Final moot, which took place in Court 1 of the High Court. Justice Gummow of the High Court presided over the Grand Final. Last year, UWA was Australian Runner-Up.

This year's team consisted of Luke Villiers, Andrew Hanna, Jessie Smith, Nicholas Monks and Alice Drury. Ben Gauntlett, Jeremy Sher, Jackie McArthur and Amy Preston-Samson travelled with the team to the Canberra rounds. This experience will help develop UWA's next group of Jessup coaches and faculty advisors.

The team is now preparing for Washington DC with an intensive program of practice moots.
