The Federal Government funding for National Science Week 2010 was announced by Senator the Hon Kim Carr on 2nd October 2009. National Science Week Grants are one of several avenues through which the Australian Government funds National Science Week.

The Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, through the Science Connections Program (SCOPE) is able to fund approved National Science Week events throughout Australia and has a pool of $500,000 for this purpose.

Applications for the 2010 grants are now open and will close on Friday 23 October 2009 , at 5.00pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT).
