Ten Research Internships (worth $ AU 3000 each) will be offered to undergraduate students in 2010.

Following a very successful initial year, ULTRIS (Undergraduate Learning and Teaching Research Internship Scheme) is again being offered in 2010.

ULTRIS will focus specifically on research into teaching and learning.

Undergraduate students (except those in their first or honours years of study) will be eligible to apply for an internship. Nominations will be called for in early October and students may apply as individuals or teams (no more than three members per team).

One internship per faculty will be made available. Interns will receive $3000 (in the case of teams this amount will be shared). It is intended that the payment associated with the internship would allow students to gain some income without having to engage in work external to the University.

Successful applicants will be expected to attend a series of workshops to be conducted during February 2010 to prepare them for the research they will undertake. The data collection phase of their project will be conducted during Semester 1, 2010.

Interns will be required to write an academic paper and present their research in an appropriate forum (academic conference or faculty meeting).
