The Business School congratulates Dr Renu Burr and Dr Simone Pettigrew on winning a teaching a learning award at the recent awards announcement.

The Excellence in Teaching Awards began in 1991 as a Guild initiative. Since then, the awards have developed as a joint initiative with the University. These are individual awards aimed at recognising teaching and supervision and are governed by a joint Guild/University Committee.

The former Graduate School of Management has also been awarded a $15,000 High Commendation to support teaching activities.

The Distinguished Teaching and Learning Award for Schools aims to encourage and reward systematic excellence in teaching and learning at the school level. It is awarded on the basis of a Schools' teaching portfolios, which must provide evidence of excellence and of focus on continuous improvement in specified indicators of teaching and learning quality.

Congratulations to the Graduate School of Management for their School Awards, and to the recipients of Excellence in Teaching Awards.

These awards - for individuals and schools - are part of the University's efforts to encourage and reward activities that enhance the student learning experience at UWA.
