Timothy Marney, Western Australian Under Treasurer, has been appointed to the Business School Board.

Mr Marney commenced as the Western Australian Under Treasurer on 20 June 2005, moving on from his position of Executive Director, Agency Resources within the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF).  He has sixteen years experience in economics and finance both in Western Australia and the Eastern States.  Prior to joining DTF in 1993, Mr Marney worked with the Reserve Bank of Australia in Sydney, having started his career as a Reserve Bank Graduate Cadet.

He has worked in numerous areas across DTF, including providing economic policy advice and forecasting, organisational administration and development, financial strategy and budgeting and capital works planning.

In his various roles, Mr Marney has provided advice to the current and previous Governments and as part of numerous high level committees as well as various Cabinet sub-committees. He has also represented the State in such forums as the Productivity Commission's Report on Government Services and the State Industrial Relations Commission.
