The recipients of the 2007 Faculty Teaching awards were announced on 13 March 2008 at a ceremony at UWA Club.

Professor Ken Clements, the inaugural holder of the BHP Billiton Research Fellow and Professor Geoff Soutar, the inaugural recipient of the Nancy Keegan and Don Voelte Distinguished Scholar, were awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award for postgraduate supervision. In addition, both were included as the University's nominees for the Carrick citations for their contributions to teaching and learning through the supervision of graduate students in the 2007 awards.

Barb Wood was also a recipient of an Excellence in Teaching Award for an Early Career Teacher and nominated for a similar award at the national level.

The recipients of the awards and commendations in the various categories were:

  • Undergraduate coursework (more than 200): Dr Alan Simon
  • Undergraduate coursework (less than 200): Dr Doina Olaru
  • Postgraduate coursework: Professor Jill Sweeney
  • Special Commendation: Professor Gary Stockport
  • Tutor: Dr Elisa Birch.
  • Special Commendation: Sze Kee Koh
  • Early Career:  Barb Wood
  • Special Commendation: Stacie Chappell
  • Adjunct Lecturer: Charlie Gunningham
  • Special Commendation: Peter Carter
  • Team Teaching: Rob Lambert and Sarah Haynes
  • Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning: Professors Ken Clements, David Plowman and Geoff Soutar.
