On the 23rd of May Faculty staff gathered in the foyer of the MCS Building in May to celebrate the achievements of our undergraduate students in the annual Faculty Prize Giving Ceremony. Among the guests were Vice-Chancellor Professor Alan Robson, Heads of Schools and Disciplines, as well as many of the generous prize donors

Several students were presented with multiple awards including Claire Molinari, Matilda-Jane Oke and Christopher Hopper.  Brendan Douglas stood out as an exceptional student. He was awarded the Maslen Physics Prize and shared the Faculty Medal for the most outstanding Honours graduand with Julian Tonti-Filippini.

Brendan also received the JA Wood Memorial Prize, awarded to the most outstanding graduand of the year of those completing an Honours course in the Faculties of Life and Physical Sciences; Natural and Agricultural Sciences; and Engineering, Computing and Mathematics; or the Bachelor of Dental Science or the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours. In September, the Faculty hosted an afternoon tea to acknowledge the achievements of those students who had won Jean Rogerson Honours Studentships and Raoul Robellaz Kahan Scholarships. The Faculty was delighted Jean Kahan, daughter of Raoul Kahan,could be there. Awardees attended with their Honours supervisors, friends and relatives and members of the Faculty. The 2007 Raoul Robellaz Kahan Scholarship winners were Sze-Ling Ng, Ryan Duncan and Stefan Paterson. The 2007 Jean Rogerson Honours Studentships winners were Alicia Handley, Zoe Budrikis, Claire Molinari and Victoria Gill.
