Ever thought of studying science in another country? Well, you can!

Opportunities exist for science students that maximise your chances of studying or working overseas. At the undergraduate level, the Bachelor of Science (International)* programme allows you to improve the language of your choice and learn more about the corresponding culture, while also developing your professional knowledge and skills in the scientific area of your interest. The Bachelor of Science (Advanced Science)* provides students with the option of taking their Advanced Science Placement unit (a research unit) overseas.

PhD studies too, can be undertaken partly in another country. The Faculty currently has a number of agreements with French universities enabling students to undertake part of their studies in France. These require that each student should spend at least one year at each university, with the balance of time usually taken at their home university. Students from this Faculty have studied in France, and French students are currently studying here, in areas such as physics, analytical chemistry and plant energy biology.

Joint study arrangements are possible at universities in some other countries besides France. Arrangements such as these that promote joint PhD studies with overseas institutions provide students with a truly international experience and open wide opportunities for further research appointments at home and abroad.

The Faculty strongly encourages international experience and sees overseas study as an excellent way of promoting understanding and extending research and job opportunities for the students concerned. Science is truly an international discipline! Students interested in finding out more about international study should contact the Faculty Office.

* Special entry requirements apply to these programmes.
