Perth has officially been named the host city for the World University Match Racing Championships in 2016 by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) during a live webcast on Sunday 10 November 2013.  The hosting duties will be a joint partnership between Australian University Sport (AUS) and The University of Western Australia (UWA), which will see student sailors from all over the world battle it out on the waters of the Swan River.
