The impact of pregnant mothers’ diets on their babies’ food allergies is one of 27 significant research projects at The University of Western Australia awarded more than $27 million in funding from the Federal Government.
Two students from the Faculty of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences have been awarded scholarships in Resource Related Engineering and Environmental Sciences in the Mining Sector at a luncheon supported by the WA Mining Club and a range of co-sponsors.
An internationally acclaimed mathematician, UWA Emeritus Professor Cheryl Praeger, has been awarded an honorary doctorate from The University of Queensland (UQ), in recognition of her distinguished service to mathematics, her distinguished career achievement and academic distinction.
Researchers at The University of Western Australia have received $14.75 million in funding for 26 projects through the Federal Government’s Australian Research Council. UWA received $9.6 million for 25 Discovery Projects, $2.9 million for eight Early Career Researcher Awards and $2.2 million for three Linkage, Infrastructure, Equipment and Facilities.
Micah Kickett graduated from Arts/Law in March this year and is now working in a graduate position with the Department of Attorney General and Justice in Darwin. Recently Micah competed and won the Northern Territory Golden Gavel competition with a presentation on ‘Ten tips to succeed in the law without really trying’.
