A leading UK scientist who helped map the bacterial ecosystems of British soil in a world-first study will join The University of Western Australia to lead an expert team in soil rehabilitation research.
Yinghui Tian was recently promoted to Research Assistant Professor. After graduating from his Bachelor Degree (Dalian University of Technolgy, China), Tian worked at the CCCC First Harbour Consultants Ltd. He achieved his PhD in Geotechnical Engineeirng at Tianjin University in 2007. He first came to COFS as an Academic Visitor and joined the team as a Research Associate in June 2007.
UWA Business School Visiting Professor Terry Hendershott, from Haas School of Business, University of California Berkeley (UCB) will share his expertise with students and staff at The University of Western Australia's Business School over the next four months.
Thomas Murrell, UWA MBA graduate and CEO of 8M Media and Communications, was elected President of the GMA, with Tracy Deveugle-Frink, a fellow UWA MBA graduate and Senior Consultant with Ernst & Young, elected as Vice-President.

Internationally recognised UWA Architecture graduate and Adjunct Professor, Kerry Hill, has been made an Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AO) for ‘distinguished service to architecture, particularly as an ambassador for Australian design in South East Asia, and as an educator and mentor.’
