Marriage equality debate – support available for staff

The political process to enable change on marriage equality in Australia is currently under debate. There will be a postal plebiscite on marriage equality. People have until 6pm on Tuesday 7 November, 2017 to send in their vote. For those not on the electoral roll the deadline to register is 24 August 2017.

Up and coming cyclist and member of the Australian National Development Team Louisa Lobigs has only been cycling for three years but the PhD student’s potential to become a world-class rider has already been identified.

Announced earlier this year as the recipient of the Amy Gillet Cycling Scholarship, Louisa’s excellence and determination in cycling as well as her education was recognised.

TEDxPerth is an independently organised TED event that aims to be a beacon for all that is remarkable, challenging and thought-provoking in Perth. It is a time to both celebrate and raise the intellectual ambition and culture of WA.

TEDxPerth 2016 is on Saturday 15 October and UWA is represented among the 13 speakers.

Reid Library refurbishment is now complete

The Reid Library refurbishment project is now complete, creating a rejuvenated and welcoming space on the Crawley campus for students to learn and interact.

This project involved a complete redesign of the ground floor to provide a range of collaborative learning spaces to support different learning styles as well as new furniture and the opening of the Quobba Gnarning café.
