UWA is participating in the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI). This index sets the national benchmark for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) workplace inclusion, and provides us with valuable feedback on performance. 

Progress update on UWA Contact Directory updates

Dear Colleagues, 

Thank you again for your support while we update the UWA Contact Directory. Prior to Christmas we indicated our expectation was to complete these by 31 January. 

Recently the Contact Directory experienced ongoing system issues which affected the editing team’s ability to complete the required updates. BI&TS has been working hard to resolve these issues and we now estimate the updates will be completed by the end of February. 

We appreciate your patience, and will keep you informed as we progress.

Call for software engineering projects

We are looking for projects to be undertaken by groups of 5th year students as a capstone for their software engineering and information technology degrees. 

Projects are run over two or more successive semesters and allow the group to scope, build, deliver and maintain a software solution. 

This software could be to support a research project, enhance or automate some work requirement, or enable a new way of teaching.

Planned maintenance - 28 January

Planned network maintenance will be carried out at the UWA Institutional Data Centre (IDC) on Saturday 28 January from 7pm-11pm.

No service interruption to IT services is anticipated. However, please be assured that BI&TS engineers will be monitoring our IT services closely throughout the maintenance period.

This work is being conducted to upgrade core network equipment which provides network connectivity for accessing UWA services such as LMS, TRIM, Pheme and PeopleSoft.

The Professional and General Staff Agreement provides for the establishment of the Professional and General Staff Consultative Committee (PGCC).  The role of  the PGCC is to enable direct consultation between management and employees on workplace relations and human resource matters.  The membership of the committee includes three elected staff representatives and the term of these staff representatives has ended.
