The Australian Academy of Science is seeking nominations for Early Career Researcher Awards (usually under 40 yrs of age) and Career Awards for life-long achievements in a number of different areas.

The first nomination round for the Faculty Teaching and Learning Awards was closed on 31 May. There have been 50 nominations in three categories:

The Faculty is pleased to offer our congratulations to Professor George Milne (School of Computer Science and Software Engineering) and Professor John Dold (University of Manchester) who have received ARC Linkage Project funding of AU $220 000 for the project “Simulation Technology for Modelling Extreme Bushfire Behaviour”.

The Research Strategic Review Area Co-Chairs, Professor Cheryl Praeger and Professor Mark Randolph, invite all members of the Faculty to an open workshop.

The workshop will provide an opportunity for all members of the Faculty to provide feedback on the Research Options paper, which will be released before the workshop.
