UWA Publishing author Brian Dibble has just been short listed for the Prime Minister’s Literary Award for his biography of prominent WA writer - Elizabeth Jolley.

UWA Publishing is delighted to have three writers with 'first' books in the Brisbane Writers' Festival in September.

The University of Western Australia Press has set a benchmark for the WA book industry by unveiling a new name and imprint that reflects its evolution as a publishing house.

A division of The University of Western Australia, the Claremont based publisher will now be known as UWA Publishing, a name change spurred by the diversification of its business interests.

UWA Publishing has just won the Best Designed Book Cover of the Year Award at the 2009 Australian Publishers' Association Book Design Awards in Sydney. 

The winning entry Wild Bees:  New and Selected Poems by Martin Harrison, sported the simple design of a copper foiled ‘bee' flying across a striking black background. 

Meanwhile, Aborigines and Activism:  Race, Aborigines and the Coming of the Sixties to Australia by Jennifer Clark, was shortlisted for the Best Designed Reference and Scholarly Book Award.
