China internship opportunities for Business Practicum students

UWA Business School student Benjamin Faraone spent his summer holidays travelling through China and gaining international work experience-all while earning credit towards his degree.

Benjamin, who is majoring in Finance and Economics, completed a three-week internship at the Charlesworth Group (known as Charlesworth China), a global publishing services company, followed by a four-week internship at Forex Signs Incorporated (FSI), a market research company which identifies investment opportunities in the foreign exchange market.

UWA Economics student Adam Morris will be able to invest more time in his studies with the help of ATCO Australia.

Adam, the 2013 recipient of the ATCO Australia Undergraduate Scholarship, said receiving the $10,000 scholarship would allow him to focus more on his studies.

"Receiving the scholarship will allow me to allocate more hours to my studies that would have otherwise been allocated to part-time work. I will now be able to spend an adequate amount of time studying while being able to support my family," Adam said.

Awards Ceremony recognises best business students

The best and brightest students from the UWA Business School have been recognised at an Awards Ceremony held this week.

At the annual Awards Ceremony, almost $400,000 worth of scholarships and prizes was presented to 33 scholarship recipients and 34 prize winners.

Dean of the UWA Business School, Winthrop Professor Phil Dolan, congratulated the award winners.

Experiencing Hong Kong's university hall culture and completing an internship in ANZ's Global Markets division were among the highlights of Wei Gen Ng's exchange experience.

Wei Gen, a UWA Commerce/Engineering student, was the inaugural ANZ UWA Business School Asia Fellowship recipient.

In September last year, he travelled to Hong Kong, completing a semester of study at the University of Hong Kong and a five-week internship at ANZ in Hong Kong.
