The Perth International Arts Festival is delighted to announce engineering and environmental firm URS has thrown its support behind the Festival's highly regarded contemporary music venue Beck's Music Box.

Perth Festival general manager Julian Donaldson welcomed the new corporate partnership with URS.

"This comes at a time when we are working to reduce the Festival's carbon footprint," he said.  URS recognises and appreciates the outstanding contribution the Festival makes to growing and promoting Perth's arts scene and is proud to be part of the event.

Bert Prinsloo, URS Regional Manager WA said: "With 37 different nationalities in our Perth team, embracing cultural diversity is very important to URS and our partnership with the Beck's Music Box allows our staff to experience a wide range of musical performances from Australia and around the world.

"The Beck's Music Box creates such an extraordinary, uplifting energy and provides the perfect venue for the people of Perth to embrace and celebrate music.  We are looking forward to joining in the festivities and sharing the vibe with our clients."

For 56 years the Festival has been delighting and inspiring Perth audiences with performances from some of the world's pre-eminent artists, musicians and performers.  During the Festival the city is transformed into an exciting culturally diverse melting pot of all things art, attracting many international and national visitors to Perth.

"After the success of last year, the Beck's Music Box has proven itself to be an exciting and vibrant live music venue which only serves to strengthen Perth's cultural arts scene and URS is proud to support the Festival" Bert Prinsloo said.

Audiences embraced the Beck's Music Box in its first year in 2008, when it quickly became a symbol that the Festival was in full flight.  The 2009 program has already been acclaimed for its diverse mix of bands, jazz, comedy, cabaret, world music, including acoustic folk-pop from José Gonzalez, the hotly anticipated homecoming of iconic WA band The Triffids and the angelic new voice of Indigenous music, Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu.
