A memorable debut Aon Uni 7s season has come to an end for Team UWA, finishing eighth place in the final standings.
A strong final tournament in Canberra gave the young team enough points to place above UNE and University of Melbourne in the league table.
The Canberra tournament was Team UWA’s best ever finish, beating rivals Bond University in the seventh place play-off.
Queensland sides University of Queensland and Griffith University proved to be the two strongest teams in the tournament, taking first and second place respectively.
The eighth overall result is a fantastic achievement for the young UWA side, especially considering injuries to the few experienced players.
With a full season’s worth of experience, Team UWA will now be looking to improve heading into the 2020 season, building on the valuable lessons learnt during their debut.
