After an outstanding 2018, where he was crowned a National and World Champion, UWA student athlete Rahul Jegatheva has continued his form, clinching the 19&Under National Champion title for the second year running.

Not only was Rahul named 19&Under Champion, but he also finished second overall, with the 17-year-old beating out far more experienced athletes.

The second overall finish was Rahul’s best effort at a National Championship, after finishing fourth overall in 2017 and 2018.

The Aquathlon event comprised of a 750m swim and 5km run on the Gold Coast, with Rahul accomplished both in the water and on the run.

This latest victory for Rahul sets him up well for the upcoming International Triathlon Union World Aquathlon Championships in Pontevedra, Spain in May.

The competition in May will give Rahul the chance to become a two-time World Champion to add to his growing collection of titles.
