The Faculty Excellence in Teaching Awards are conferred annually to celebrate and reward excellence in teaching and service as delivered by academic and professional staff within each of the four faculties of UWA. The awards are open to staff employed on a full-time, part-time, sessional or contract basis.
There are three broad categories of award:
- Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning;
- Excellence in Teaching; and
- Programs that Enhance Learning.
The process of nominating staff for excellence in teaching and service during the 2018 year has now closed, with HMS receiving 75 nominations from students and staff outlining various ways that the learning and teaching environment has been enhanced. You are urged to consider nominating colleagues, and/or advising students of the opportunity to nominate staff when the Call for Nominations reopens in mid-2019.
The staff nominated for 2018 teaching and service have been asked to provide further information to enable the Faculty Judging Panel to determine winners in each of the categories. The Education Team will coordinate the judging process over the next two months.
An opportunity to support the award scheme is currently available by way of membership of the Faculty Judging Panel. Expressions of Interest for this important role should be forwarded to firstname.lastname@example.org by 18 March 2019.
