Good morning. It was great to see UWA graduate Professor Akshay Venkatesh awarded the prestigious Fields Medal last week, regarded as the Nobel Prize for mathematics. Professor Venkatesh is one of our youngest graduates, completing his degree at just 16 years of age. You can read more about his achievement below.

It was also good to see some of the University’s most innovative research projects awarded funding under the Australian Research Council’s Linkage Projects and Future Fellowships Schemes. Announced last week by Federal Minister for Education and Training, the Hon Simon Birmingham, ten UWA projects received funding. You can find out more about these ten projects below.

Last week, members of the Executive were engaged in a two-day strategic retreat and discussed the ideas and feedback generated by the green papers. The outcomes of these discussions will support our Strategic Vision 2030 and we look forward to sharing more on this with you soon.
