West Coast Fever have suffered a three-goal defeat against Giants Netball going down 69-66 at the International Convention Centre on Saturday.

The win secured the Minor Premiership for the Giants.

Trailing by 14 goals at the final change, Fever gallantly fought back, scoring 22 goals to 11 in the final stanza, to fall agonisingly short, while an injury to Verity Charles in the final term saw her forced from the court

Fever Head Coach Stacey Marinkovich said she was disappointed about the result but was proud of the final quarter fightback.

"The Giants are a formidable side, and we knew we couldn't let them get on top of us, but credit to them, for the first three quarters they played great netball," Marinkovich said.

"We showed in the final quarter the quality of netball we are capable of, and we will ensure we review our game honestly, to ensure we continue to improve each week."

The home side clicked into gear from the first centre pass, Marinkoich called a timeout and encourage the squad to lift the intensity.

The break in play allowed Fever to find their rhythm, but the Giants managed to nab the first bonus point of the game with a five-goal lead at quarter time.

The Giants continued their pressure in second, extending the margin to 10 goals at the half time break.

Marinkovich made a raft of changes in the third which included injecting Kaylia Stanton into Goal Attack, moving Medhurst into Wing Attack, while Courtney Bruce and Stacey Francis switched defensive circle positions.

The changes did help Fever tick the scoreboard along, however the Giants had an answer for every move, finishing the quarter with their third bonus point of the game and a 14-goal lead.

Fever made more changes in the final quarter with Jess Anstiss moving into Centre, Verity Charles into Wing attack and Shannon Eagland to Wing Defence, however weren't able to chase down a big margin in what was a frenetic final stanza.

West Coast Fever will travel to Sydney to face Giants Netball once again in the 2018 Suncorp Super Netball Semi-Final on Saturday 11 August 3pm AEST.
